We have finally found a new singer, and we are reworking our set, which is sounding very promising :) We played a last minute support to Gore with Robochrist on the 29th December which was fun. The gig in Sheffield went well, except for some shall we say piss poor organisation. We have a few gigs in the pipeline, more details soon. Cheers.

The new site is finally up...and we are now looking for a new singer as Joey has left the band. Anyone interested can email the band. We will now be playing an instrumental set in the near future until we find a replacement. Mike.
02 July 2003
We have plenty of gigs coming up in the first two weeks of July in the UK, dates and venues will be added soon to the gig section. The gig on the 7th April w/ Eborsisk went very well, the two new songs went down well and we had a good response. We also opened the first Day of Despair on 3rd May, for Tony from the Enchanted and Gore Bear's birthday, with Sabbat, Gore, Helgrind, and Danny from Anathema played an acoustic set. An amazing night and a big thank you for inviting us to play! We sold out of copies of our Ep so we had a great response too.
We have been practising and writing over the past few months, and a few of us have had exams so we haven't been able to gig a lot.
1st April 2003
Next gig coming up is on the 7th of April, w/ foruta and eborsisk at Jo's Well, which SoM are really looking forward to playing as we will have two brand new songs that we will be showcasing, so that should be fun. We are hoping to get a tour scheduled for the summer period after all of the exams are finished, but nothing is finalised as of yet. We are also hoping to be playing a lot more gigs out of the Leeds area....with gigs lined up in Wales and Bradford. We have also shifted a few copies of the CD, but in the next few months we are hoping to sell a lot more. The gig at Royal Park Cellars went very well, one of our best gigs yet. Expect another update after the Jo's Well gig.
8th February 2003
Not that much has taken place in the world of Shadow of Memories, Mark (new bass player) has settled in very well, and at the moment we are currently writing newer, better material as we speak. The New Roscoe gig that we played last month went very well, and got a good reception, despite a pretty small crowd. We have a couple more gigs in the pipeline now, they are 21st feb @ Royal Park Cellars headlining above Nerve Engine and Silverburn, and another on the 7th of April @ Jo's Well headlining with Eborsisk, Foruta and Botulas Canis..... so we are really looking forward to those gigs, hopefully there will be a decent turn out for both. The Cd should be also available at both gigs aswell, price of that is yet to be confirmed, but will possibly be between £2-4, so theres no excuse not to buy a copy :) Well thats all there is for now, frequant updates to follow.
12th January 2003
A lot has happened since the last update, apart from the minor things such as christmas and New Year, SoM also played two gigs (Highwood and Jo's Well), and after a some-what mixed response, they seemed to go very well indeed. Also, Dunc the stand in player, has now ended being the "stand-in" player, as we have now got a full time bass player, in the form of, Mark Johnson (a.k.a Fingers of Funk), who we have started practising with and things are sounding very positive at the moment, and he should be ready for the next gig. Talking of upcoming gigs, we have one this Wednesday at the New Roscoe, and one that is still to be confirmed on the 15th Feb at Royal Park Cellars. The E.P has been finished, and all that needs doing now is the cover artwork for it, which is being designed as we speak, and, from the comments that have already been made, the cd seems to be getting a promising response. Well, i think thats about it for now, another update WILL come shortly.
7th November 2002
This is Paul. here, taking over from Jons duties as webmaster(?). Well.....a lot as gone on in Shadow of Memories since the last update, ranging from possible name changes, to the pretty major factor that we, the band, sadly felt the need to part ways with Jon as the bass player, mainly due to personal reasons. And so after that, we decided to carry on playing the gigs that were booked, but with stand-in bassist, Duncan Evans (who is also appearing on Mirage, on the CD).Talking of the Cd, all the guitar, bass and drum parts have been finished, and all that is left to do now is the vocals, and then general mastering and mixing of it, and at the moment all of it is sounding very promising indeed. As for upcoming gigs, at the moment we dont have any for a while yet, the next ones being on the 28th December @ the Highwood, and the 30th December at Jo's Well.....more details at a later date. Well, i thik thats about it for now, another update shall hopefully come shortly.
22nd September 2002
recording is currently underway, tracking for drums and bass is currently going very well. this recording is being produced and engineered by no other than mark carthwa, original drummer of cockney loonies the cardiacs! progress so far is VERY encouraging and even at this early stage it is looking likely that we may look at getting these recordings released. also on the releasing front, we shall be submitting a live version of the track "apocalypse" to the raw nerve compilation. more details soon!
20th September 2002
A lot has happened since the last update. well not so much in the playing point of things, but by the time you read this things will be happening. although nothing has been made official, we shall most likely be signing a contract with raw nerve promotions, a deal that will assist us in getting our name out to the biggest audience possible. we have several gigs in the pipeline, including a possible support slot on some dates on tour with a norweigan black metal band (better not say who it is in case we don't get it - and no it isn't dimmu borgir, enslaved or mayhem or any of the bigger bands) and a swedish gothic rock band (wait and see, and no it isn't someone really famous). We should also be supporting doom/stoner kings silverburn and XI at the bradford empress on 11th october, but this aint confirmed yet. just so you know in other news, recording for our demo shall commence on saturday (ie. tomorrow) although it is most likely to be until october that this recording commences aproper. a selection of tracks shall be available on mp3.com in due time and if all goes well then we shall most probably release this properly for a small fee. anyway, thanks so far everyone for your support to the band, we still have a helluva lot to.
31st august 2002
